The Problem

Toys R Us was searching for solutions to standardize and digitalize instore screens to captivate children and parents attention in creating a retail experience when entering into the world of toys at Toys R Us. The problem lies on measuring the return for investment on digital signage in shop, consolidating all brand’s video contents, and conducting a large scale installation, maintenance of hardware and video content management.

About Walmart
Walmart is an American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores and grocery stores

The Problem
Walmart was in search of ways in digitalizing on shelf visions to their buyers, at the same time creating a single viewing platform between staff and customers to learn about features of products instore. The difficulty of the program lies on consolidating the video contents of all suppliers, creating an informative content to buyers and receiving data for the number of activations playing in different contents.

The Solution
Upon fully understanding the requirements of Walmart, we have worked out a customized solution to digitalize the stores shelves. A 12” LCD Media Player with interactive buttons and a custom data collection software was embedded. A motion sensor would be activated when someone passes by and a designed video would be played accordingly in record of the last activation preference. It is an efficient way of pre-selling products without sales supervision.
The software is able to record statistics of motion activated videos, patterns in interacting with videos, frequency of videos being played.
Glory Star 12.1” 8 button LCD Screen enabled Walmart to:
1. Attract viewers to the correct information with the motion sensor
2. Track and calculate the number of presses and activations and the type of videos being activated.
3. Loop commercial of the product for information and education purpose

About WowWee
WowWee was founded as an independent research, development and manufacturing company, focused on cutting-edge technologies. The introduction of WowWee’sRobosapien™ robot in 2004 revolutionized the way we interact with robotic companions. Over time, WowWee's focus on the development of breakthrough consumer technologies, has led to many more imaginative, award-winning gadgets and toys, entertaining both kids and adults around the world. The company has been very successful in selling millions of mini Robots to enlighten children and adults.

The Problem
How to communicate the features of MIP (the new robot) and solving the retail problem of no power outlets ?
WowWee have created MIP (the new robot) with cool features of lifting coke cans and it could be connected to your phone as a control interface to the robot. Recruiting sales situated in retail locations demoing the toy would be costly and the lack of retail space could not facilitate a sales counter. Running a looping screen would be an issue if power outlets are not of easy access.

The Solution
7inch MEDIA PLAYER with interactivity and battery Cell connected
Wowwee created a complete solution of a 7inch media player with interactive buttons and D Cell operated display. Videos would be played on demand, when the button is activated to conserve battery as well as blinking buttons to attract those passing by shelf edges. The displays were massively deployed in Target, gift shops, airports worldwide. The following year, CHIP and MIPOSAUR was released through the expansion of market.
With Glory Star’s LCD Media Player series, Wowwee was able to resolve the problem of:
1)The lack of power outlets in retail shops
2)Reduce the cost of sales person on site conducting demo of products.
3) Standardized the look and feel for the brand
4) Developed an easy to deploy display yet succeeded in communicating a sophisticated and fun product to each customer personally.

About City Super
City Super, is a well-known retail chain store in Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan. The shops specializes in upstream products and luxury imported groceries. The group currently operates 21 Hong Kong stores, 6 Shanghai stores and 7 stores across Asia.

The Problem
How to reduce cost of printing catalogs and digitalize in-store promotions?
When we first encountered City Super, they have installed televisions with DVD players with tangling cables hiding at the back of the food counters. There were several issues, first was the intensive use of the DVD players 24/7 made them had e to purchase a new DVD player every 6 months. There was no branding, they needed a way to activate the sound only when customers are nearby to not distract the work of store staff. Plus a way where management of screens was easier in store.

The Solution
15” LCD Screen with an imprinted logo acrylic cover
Finding the size was a challenge, it had to be large enough to be visible, but not too large to take up too much of the counter space. The prefect size was a 15inch Screen. It enabled City Super providing an information platform to their customers, communicating the origins of products, building up their brand to digitalize the store.
Glory Star 15” LCD Media player enabled City Super to:
1. Reduce printing fee each year
2. Attract buyers
3. Educate buyers on the origins of food and facts of products
4. Inform viewers in a consolidated way
5. Create an uniform brand image

The Problem
How to display and tell the story behind the new invented shoe ?
When Goretex first approached us, they showed us their magnificent new shoe that was waterproof, comfortable and capable for heeling feets. The only obstacle was, how to show consumers about this high-tech shoe they have invented? In an non-traditional way.

The Solution
22” LCD Transparent Screen Display Box
Gore-Tex being the leading edge in manufacturing of fabrics, did not want to use conventional ways of merely displaying a looping video for their new invented shoe. Glory Star’s transparent screen enabled Goretex to combine the view of their authentic shoe in the box and created an effect of rain draining down the waterproof shoe and preformed strong in all weather conditions. The message was strong to consumers and the size of a 21.5inch was the prefect size for shelf edges and exhibition booth display.
The program was first launched in Germany and later on implemented in USA, Japan, Korea, Beijing the worldwide.
